Alexa Britt, an upcoming Pop/Rock artist from, New Jersey is about to release her debut EP in January 2012. Her music and lyrics can be described as commanding, heartfelt and gripping. Coupled with her exciting stage presence she has separated herself from the local musicians. All of this combined has drawn an audience of all ages.

Alexa’s musical journey began at a young age when her parents enrolled her in an interactive music program. At 7, she began to play piano and continued for 10 years, and during that time she dabbled with the flute and violin. Once in high school she picked up the guitar, self taught herself for a year and then started formal lessons. During that time she started writing seriously and in the winter of 2006 formed an all girl band. The concept was simple, great musicians to showcase her music and cover some of the best females and bands in Rock.

In December of 2007, her powerful all girl band took off. They played numerous battle of the bands competitions and shows. In July of 2008, Hall of Famer Bernie Worrell contacted her and asked her band to appear in his “Locals and Legends Benefit Festival”. One month later they played on Labor Day weekend at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and opened for CandleBox and Carolina Liar.

Radio stations such as WRKE 100.3 FM and WMAR Ice Cast have featured her songs on their stations multiple times. Radio 104.5 had also asked her to play a live aired in studio session after seeing her perform the Labor Day Penn’s Landing Concert.

At this point, Alexa Britt is focusing on her solo career writing, recording and preparing for her EP release. Her present goal is to sign a recording contract in order to share her passion and love of the music she writes. She is looking forward to a future filled with music and performing.

“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”   -Billy Joel
